“By chance I stumbled across the woods mounted on a bicycle standing around in the sales room during a conversation in the myBoo shop in Kiel. Shortly inquired, informed on the Internet and spontaneously bought the sen comfort for my new mountain bike. Convinced by Made in Germany and above all by the integration of the workshop.
After 1200 km on the Danube cycle path with heavy heat, heavy rain, sweat and sun cream they still look like new. Surprising for all of us: in the rain the handles had not become swollen softwoods. On the contrary, they remained bone dry, handy and completely untouched by wetness and dirt. Also contacts to house walls and similar caused naturally traces, but only small, reparable. Scratches on plastic handles, on the other hand, are for eternity. Welded wet hands did not create an unpleasant or unsafe feeling either, because the handles simply remained dry or the sweat dried away quickly and without a trace.
Best of all, however, the fact that I had no numbness in my fingers after this week-long bike tour is no discomfort due to irritation of the carpal tunnel as usual. However, I changed the inclination of the handles from horizontal to inclined downwards. I didn’t get along with the horizontal position at all.
I was looking forward to continuing every morning because the grips felt so incredibly good and looked really good. Thank you very much for your idea and the careful production of these ecologically perfect and functionally excellent grips.”

“Per Zufall bin ich im Gespräch im myBoo-Laden in Kiel über die an ein im Verkaufraum rumstehendes Fahrrad montierten Hölzer gestolpert. Kurz nachgefragt, im Internet informiert und kurzentschlossen für mein neues Mountainbike die sen comfort gekauft. Überzeugt durch Made in Germany und vor allem durch die Einbindung der betreuten Werkstatt.
Nach 1200 km Donauradweg mit Starkhitze, Starkregen, Schweiß und Sonnencreme sehen sie noch aus wie neu. Überraschend für uns alle: im Regen waren die Griffe keine aufgequollenen Weichhölzer geworden. Sie blieben im Gegenteil knochentrocken, griffig und vollkommen ungerührt von Nässe und Schmutz. Auch Kontakte zu Hauswänden und ähnlichem verursachten natürlich Spuren, aber nur geringe, reparable. Kratzer an Kunststoffgriffen sind dagegen für die Ewigkeit. Schweißnasse Hände erzeugten auch kein unangenehmes oder unsicheres Gefühl, weil die Griffe einfach trocken blieben bzw. der Schweiß blitzschnell und spurenlos wegtrocknete.
Am besten jedoch ist der Umstand, dass ich nach dieser wochenlangen Radtour keinerlei Taubheitsgefühle in den Fingern hatte, keine Beschwerden durch Reizung des Karpaltunnels wie sonst. Allerdings habe ich die Neigung der Griffe von waagerecht auf nach unten geneigt geändert. Mit der waagerechten Position bin ich überhaupt nicht zurecht gekommen.
Ich habe mich jeden Morgen aufs Weiterfahren gefreut, weil die Griffe sich so unglaublich gut anfühlen und wirklich sehr gut aussehen. Vielen Dank für Ihre Idee und die sorgfältige Herstellung dieser ökologisch einwandfreien und funktional hervorragenden Griffe.”

The Eurobike 2016
On 02.09.2016 I made my way to Lake Constance with my camper van and the folding bike in my luggage. The destination? A camping site not far from Friedrichshafen. For the 03.09. I got myself a ticket for the Eurobike Festival Days…
Velospring sen comfort – wooden handles
After I had given the greeting from Felix at the stand of Velospring, I had the Sen grips explained to me in detail. Short info first: my Christmas present is secured, because these grips will decorate my touring bike of Tern in the coming year.
The function of the grips is quite simply explained: they are rotated by a spring in the handlebars and thus convey the effect of a spring-loaded handlebar. A short test ride with a Schindelhauer wheel, on which the handles were mounted, showed that the wooden handles are really dreamlike in the hand and the spring effect convinces me. A successful upgrade for the bike. And of course again a piece of individuality, because no handle made of walnut wood resembles the other.
